Inbound Process Pack HU While Creating Inbound Delivery in S/4HANA

This blog will discuss while creating Inbound Delivery in S/4HANA how will pack the material and how it will perform the Put-away Process for HU in EWM.

Test & Validation

Perform test Packed HU in LE and put-away transactions for to ensure the system correctly assigns storage bins according to the defined strategy.
Adjust configurations based on test results and operational feedback.

Steps in Inbound Process flow

1. Create Purchase Order

Step 1: T-code- ME21N- Create Purchase Order

Step 2: Enter Vendor, Purchase Organization, Purchasing group, and Company Code.

Step 3: Enter Material, Quantity, Price, Plant, Storage Location

Step 4: Enter Confirmation- Inbound Delivery and Save

2. Create Inbound Delivery and Pack HU

Step 1: T-code: VL31N

Step 2: Enter Purchase Order Number, and External ID, Press enter, and Click on Save

Step 3: Select the Line Item and Click on the Pack Button

Step 4: Enter Packing Material and Press Enter

Step 5: HU get created, Select HU Line Item and Material Line Item click on Pack Button

HU is Packed with 500 EA Quantity

Inbound Delivery 180002083 created

3. Process Inbound Delivery in Warehouse

Step 1: T-code: /N/SCWM/PRDI

Step 2: Enter Delivery Document 180002083 and Execute

Step 3: Click on HU Tab

Note: The same HU number as in S/4HANA is reflected in EWM because we have maintained Number Range Interval R1 600000 to 699999 as Internal and in EWM it is as External

Step 4: Inbound Delivery==> Follow On functions==> Warehouse Task

We are receiving Handling Unit so the Product Warehouse Task is blank

Step 5: Click on Handling Unit Handling Unit Task will be created

Step 6: Select the line Item Click on Create button

Note: We have maintained the Storage Type Search Sequence and Put-away Indicator in the warehouse product master so the system determines the storage bin automatically.

Step 7: Click on Save Button

Step 8: Click on Warehouse Task and Confirm Warehouse Task

Step 9: Product Warehouse Task Blank Click on HU task Confirm+ Save

Step 10: Go back to Inbound Delivery Goods receipt and Put-away get completed

4. Stock Overview in the Warehouse

Step 1: T-code- /N/SCWM/MON

Step 2: Enter the Warehouse Number, and Warehouse Monitor and Execute

Step 3: Click on Physical Stock enter HU number and Execute

Conclusion

We have packed the material during inbound delivery creation in SAP S/4HANA same handling unit number reflected in the EWM system as we completed put-away for handling unit is available in warehouse storage bin.
